E. John McKee
John McKee began working in development in 1995, serving as Executive Director of the Historical Society of Saratoga Springs (now the Saratoga Springs History Museum). During his time John became a regular attendee of the Planned Giving Study Group of Northeastern New York, and he decided to move into higher education major and planned giving.
In 1999, John went to Gallaudet University in Washington DC, where he became the Director of Major and Planned Giving before joining University of Maryland’s Office of Gift Planning in 2001. Besides two years spent as a Registered Representative for New York Life, John has 15 years of experience in university planned giving, and is an active member of the National Capital Gift Planning Council.
John earned a BA in Art History at Yale, and a MA in Early American Culture from Winterthur Program/University of Delaware. A Seattle native, John now lives in downtown Baltimore.
